Drew Kim founded P3 Consulting LLC in 2010. Before starting P3 Consulting, Drew served as Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen’s Policy Chief and Executive Director of the Governor’s State Planning and Policy Office. Drew was a central figure in planning and developing some of the Governor’s signature policy initiatives such as the Imagination Library/Books from Birth Foundation Voluntary Pre-K for Tennessee Teach Tennessee and CoverTN, health coverage for Tennessee’s working uninsured.
After serving as Policy Chief for Governor Phil Bredesen for six years, Drew had the privilege to serve as a policy consultant to the Bill Haslam for Governor campaign in 2010. During and since that time, as a strategic advisor, Drew has partnered with mission-driven leaders and organizations involved in reforming education through projects such as Race to the Top/First to the Top Complete College TN the Memphis Teacher Effectiveness Initiative (TEI) the development and launching of LIFT Education for superintendents and the Tennessee Learning Circle of local philanthropists and college access programs such as knoxAchieves, Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect (serving as consultant to Randy Boyd, Special Advisor to the Governor for Higher Education in 2013).
Drew graduated with honors from Wesleyan University in Connecticut with a B.A. in Government, joined the 1992 Teach for America corps, and then received a master’s degree in public policy from the Terry Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University.
Drew has had the pleasure of serving as an adjunct professor in public policy at Vanderbilt University since 2017.
